Advertising to Chewy's pet parents

Chewy Ads (Chewy Retail Media Network): Ad Formats & Agency Support

Autoship customers drive 84% of Chewy's sales; RMIQ confirms your Chewy Ads access, then judges campaigns on lifetime value as well as first-order ROAS.

Chewy Ads is Chewy's retail media network for brands that sell on Chewy. Advertisers buy sponsored placements in Chewy's search results and product grids, automated Chewy Max campaigns, and offsite ads on Google, Meta, TikTok, YouTube and streaming TV, measured with Chewy's first-party data on new customers and Autoship repeat purchases.

The Autoship effect

One ad, many reorders: Autoship and LTV ROAS

"A conversion on Chewy is worth more than a single purchase," Chewy says: 84% of its net sales come from Autoship, the scheduled reorders pet parents sign up for.

LTV ROAS

Chewy's proprietary LTV ROAS tracks the Autoship purchases a shopper makes after interacting with an ad, so brands see current and forecast sales. Chewy puts the average across its 2026 campaigns, onsite and offsite, at $7 or more in LTV sales for every $1 spent.

Incremental ROAS

When most sales arrive through scheduled reorders, "a large share of the purchases that follow an ad would have happened without it," PPC Land notes. Chewy also reports incremental ROAS (iROAS), which counts net new revenue.

Customers and Autoship

  • 21.7M Active customers At August 2, 2026, up 3.8% year over year. Chewy Form 10-Q, September 2026.
  • 84.6% Net sales from Autoship customers Second quarter of fiscal 2026, up from 83.0% a year earlier.
  • 1 in 3 Onsite ad clicks that end in a purchase Chewy's figure for all 2026 onsite campaigns.

On Chewy and off it

Sponsored tiles, Chewy Max, offsite and CTV

Sponsored formats run on Chewy's site and app; offsite media sends pet parents back to Chewy to buy.

  • Sponsored Products

    • Pays: CPC

Product tiles in the grid, shown when pet parents are actively searching, on desktop, mobile and the app.

  • Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Video

    • Pays: CPC

Sponsored Brands pair brand creative with products early in the shopping journey; Sponsored Video runs in the grid.

  • Chewy Max

    • Runs: Onsite and offsite

Automated, objective-based campaigns that can target LTV ROAS. Chewy Max debuted in March 2026; about 40% of advertisers tried it in its first quarter, Chewy's CEO said in June 2026.

  • Offsite search, social and display

    • Minimum: $5,000 a month

Ads run from Chewy's brand handles on Google Shopping, Meta and TikTok, and on YouTube and the open web, targeted with Chewy's audiences.

  • Connected TV

    • Format: Full-screen, non-skippable

Streaming video that builds pools of exposed viewers for display retargeting; Modern Retail called CTV a pilot in June 2026.

Approval comes first

From access request to Chewy's own reports

Chewy Ads is self-service once Chewy approves access, and Chewy reports results from its own purchase data.

  1. Access by Supplier ID

The form asks for the Supplier ID on a Chewy PO or in the Chewy Partner Hub, the supply method (Direct, V2C Dropship or Distributor) and any agency involvement. Chewy reviews each request.

  2. An auction Chewy has not described

Chewy reported generally stable auction pricing as ad supply expanded rapidly (September 2026). The auction type is unpublished.

  3. Reports built on Chewy purchase data

Reports show New-to-Brand, Autoship attachment, incrementality, iROAS and LTV ROAS. Attribution windows are unpublished.

  • Onsite ads

    CPC, no published minimum

Chewy calls its cost-per-click model "a low barrier to entry" and states no minimum budget.

  • Offsite ads

    From $5,000 a month

Plus a person or agency to manage campaigns, creative within 30 days and about 2 to 3 weeks of setup.

Two catches

The Supplier ID gate and overlapping SKUs

  1. A Supplier ID first

Chewy Ads opens to brands with a Chewy Supplier ID, so a brand has to sell on Chewy before it can advertise there.

  2. Chewy Max and Sponsored Products can overlap

Chewy advises a distinct role for each and low SKU overlap. Chewy's case study reports 13% higher ROAS (reported as dROAS) and 12% higher LTV ROAS for vendors using both with distinct roles, against Sponsored Products-only vendors (Chewy internal data, January 2025 to July 2026).

Scoped brand by brand

Chewy ads agency: access first, lifetime value next

RMIQ has published no Chewy campaigns or results, so the work starts by checking what your brand can buy.

  • Access check

Scoping starts with the Supplier ID and supply method, and whether the offsite prerequisites are in place.

  • One role per SKU

RMIQ optimizes each SKU with its own keywords, bids and budget, so the evergreen assortment can run in Chewy Max while new launches and promotions run in Sponsored Products, with low SKU overlap.

  • Lifetime value beside first-order ROAS

Chewy reports LTV ROAS and iROAS, so campaigns can be judged on customer lifetime value and first-order ROAS.

  • Chewy beside Amazon

RMIQ's view: pet shoppers search Amazon and Chewy for options that meet their criteria, often regardless of brand.

Asked about Chewy

Chewy advertising agency FAQ

Who can advertise on Chewy?

Chewy Ads is for brands that sell products on Chewy. The access request needs a Chewy Supplier ID and the supply method (Direct, V2C Dropship or Distributor), so a brand sold through a distributor applies under that relationship. Chewy's team reviews every request, and the form asks whether an agency will be involved.

What does Chewy require before offsite campaigns run?

Offsite campaigns on Google, Meta, TikTok, YouTube and the open web need at least $5,000 a month, a person or agency to manage them, creative within 30 days and about 2 to 3 weeks of setup. Onsite ads are sold per click, and Chewy publishes no minimum budget for them.

What is LTV ROAS on Chewy Ads?

LTV ROAS is Chewy's own return measure: it counts the Autoship reorders that follow an ad as well as the first order, which matters because 84% of Chewy's net sales come from Autoship. Chewy Max campaigns can target it, and Chewy's case study reports it beside ROAS (reported as dROAS).

Can an agency run Chewy Ads for my brand?

Yes. Chewy's access form asks whether an agency or third party will be involved, and offsite campaigns require a person or agency to manage them. RMIQ has published no Chewy results, so a call starts by checking your access and which formats are open to your brand.
